8 GOING TO STATE!

8 TO STATE- that’s the new phrase going around the school this week! The Varsity wrestlers followed the JV momentum by making a statement of their own at the Region 3 tournament held at our very own Copper Hills this past week. The team wrestled with incredible heart and committment, giving us a school record 4th place finish (just a few points shy of 3rd place!). Another record was made when the team qualified 8 individuals to the state final tournament. Here are your 2009 state qualfiers.

  1. 112- ROBBIE FLETCHER – 2ND AT REGION – JUNIOR
  2. 119- JACOB GILES – 4TH AT REGION – SENIOR
  3. 135- DAVID PUTVIN – 4TH AT REGION – JUNIOR
  4. 145- JERRY PACHECO- 3RD AT REGION – SENIOR
  5. 171- KYLE FREIMUTH- 4TH AT REGION – SENIOR
  6. 215- PHIL ROCHA – 3RD AT REGION – SENIOR
  7. 285- MAX ADAMSON – 3RD AT REGION – SENIOR
  8. 285- ZAC JENSEN – 2ND AT REGION – SENIOR

* HONORABLE MENTION- ZACH STAUFFER (ONLY 3 WERE TAKEN AT 140 THIS YEAR)
